A white owl drifts downward in this painting with its feet ready to lan or grasp. The dark background offers visual drama against the light white of the owl. The black and gray background is almost surreal with yellow-green leaf shapes and rain-spattered textures.
The owl is not just white. There are other colors, like ochres and blues in its feathers.
