Title: Libra-apapane
Series: Starry Nights

Original oil painting by Sarah Soward.
Oil on panel
Painting: 12 x 12 x .75 inches
Frame size: 13 x 13 x 1 inches (Frame is included)

This piece is inspired by the constellation and Zodiac sign, Libra.

Libra is a balancing act. I decided that apapane birds figuring out their positioning on a branch, mid-decision, was the way to go here.

The second image shows where the stars of the constellation are in the painting. It is provided here for reference only.
The painting you will receive does not have watermarks or lines on it.

The painting is framed in a black float frame. The frame is included.

Please keep fine art and prints out of direct sunlight and UV light.
The watermark is not present on the painting. It is included to protect the image on the web.

I work primarily from my own photo reference and imagination. For this painting, I had a little help. See below.

LUNAR CODEX

My Artwork on the Moon

Luna, my triple-rhino painting honoring Earth's moon, is going to reside in the Southern Polar Region of that very same moon. My art is not only international, but extra-terrestrial.

Luna is part of The Polaris Collection, payload GM1, going to the moon with the Astrobotic Griffin Mission 1. Enormous thanks to Samuel Peralta and NASA for making this possible.

Inspiration

I love the natural world! Through my artwork, I seek to honor it and encourage others to love, protect, and conserve it too.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of my artwork is donated to the International Rhino Foundation.

Image Reference

I work primarily from my own photographs of animals, wildlife, and nature. While I paint and create artowrk in my indoor art studio, I gather most of my inspiration outside. I combine any number of photographs along with and my (over-active?) imagination to create my artwork.

"Absolutely Beautiful! I never really looked at rhinos as a beautiful animal...But when you paint them, you make them look so majestic and beautiful but still big and muscular. And let me say maybe peaceful. No one is there to bother them. It's like I see them truly free and happy!!"

Hey Sarah, we hung the painting in our dining room. We had other plans for it, but decided we wanted to be able to look at it often. So, here I sit, having a cup of coffee while enjoying it. Cheers!
