Rhinotopia Painting Series

Rhinotopia began as this series of over 30 paintings. They are now collected in a book called, Rhinotopia, Beginnings.

The premise of the series is that rhinos should be everywhere, so I put them there.

They are on top of volcanoes, in birch forests, on roadways in Norway, as well as in Surreal scenes and abstractions. Additionally, part of my calling as a rhinoceros artist is to entice others to love these incredible animals as much as I do so they will be more inclined to conserve them.

Each painting looks to a different deity, archetype, or similar over-arching mythological presence to equate the rhino to the sacred in a way that speaks to humanity's core.
