Title: Caelum, The Wily Chisel
Series: Starry Nights
Original acrylic painting by Sarah Soward.
Acrylic on canvas
Painting: 8 x 8 x .75 inches
Frame size: 9 x 9 x 1 inches (Frame is included)
This piece is inspired by the constellation Caelum.
Caelum is translated to mean "chisel." When I look up into the night sky, I want to see animals, not tools. I want to be reminded of life, not work. So I turned the chisel, a sharp instrument used for digging into materials, into a ferret, a sharp-witted animal who also happens to be a good at digging.
Please keep fine art and prints out of direct sunlight and UV light.
The watermark is not present on the painting. It is included to protect the image on the web.
I work primarily from my own photo reference and imagination. For this painting, I had a little help. See below.
