Title: Nubian Capricorn
Series: Starry Nights

This print features a long-eared Nubian goat emerging from the Capricorn constellation.

Nubian Capricorn is a playful take on the constellation that is normally associated with a fish-tailed goat. I'm not that excited about meshing two different animals together in my art, so I decided to show the watery aspect of the imagery differently. The Nubian goat's characteristically long ears float about in space as a nod to the fluid imagery usually used for Capricorn. 

Stepping outside the astronomy (Look at my star placement! Woo!) and into astrology, Capricorn is an Earth sign. So I feel just fine about not giving my carmine-pink goat a fishy tail.

Luna, my triple-rhino painting honoring Earth's moon, is going to reside in the Southern Polar Region of that very same moon. My art is not only international, but extra-terrestrial.

Inspiration

I love the natural world! Through my artwork, I seek to honor it and encourage others to love, protect, and conserve it too.

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of my artwork is donated to the International Rhino Foundation.

Image Reference

I work primarily from my own photographs of animals, wildlife, and nature. While I paint and create artowrk in my indoor art studio, I gather most of my inspiration outside. I combine any number of photographs along with and my (over-active?) imagination to create my artwork.
