Blooming Ibis No. 2 is part of my Surrealist Tiny Birds series.
This is the second of two paintings of a critically endangered Northern Bald Ibis emerging from the blossoms of a succulent called pink frills. I love the strangeness of these birds and the colors of these flowers, so I had to paint more than one.
Painting Dimensions: 8 x 10 inches
Dimensions including frame: 12 x 15 inches
Gouache on watercolor paper.
Framed in a white wooden frame with plexiglass and a white mat.
The ibis was photographed at the San Francisco Zoo, where I have permission to make art from my photos of their animals.
