This is a one of a kind piece created for a photo shoot and subsequent painting by another artist. The muslin corset was sewn by Scott Pennington and hand painted by Sarah Soward. The corset is purposely unfinished and frayed at the edges with stays protruding.
This is an art piece and is not meant to be worn as a garment. It was painted with gouache paint, a water-based media, because it would achieve the stormy, watery effect I was after while sinking into the fibers of the muslin and not risk cracking. I also liked the wry symbolism of using a media that will wash away on a garment inspired by the Norse god of thunder and lightning. It's as raw and temporary as both a rhino and a bolt of lightning.
Dress form not included. It is for display purposes only. This listing is for the corset only.
