I have dance exercise DVDs from the early 2000s. They will never be mastered, but they are enjoyed.
The DVDs are my one and only before-the-buttcrack-of-dawn infomercial purchase. I have no idea what I was doing awake, but I was watching the only thing still on my rabbit-eared old television. Somehow, buying this Core Body Latin Dance Workout Thing seemed like a fantastic idea. I used my phone—that was still a landline—to buy this great, great deal.
It's been roughly 20 years. I can safely tell you that I am pleased with my purchase. I've been hanging out with my accented workout guides almost every day while sheltering-in-place. I'm not sure that I look forward to it, exactly. They're tough! It's good for me, though, and I like it.
I also like to travel. I have no idea when I'll be able to do that again for art or otherwise. Instead of letting myself get sad about that (again) today, I put on things that remind me of traveling. The bracelet came from my mother, who lives far away. The skirt has been worn on many day trips. The shirt is one I bought when I took myself to Paris for my birthday years ago. The earrings are from a place I hope to go someday—Oaxaca. I've heard so much good about the art and crafts there. And my velociraptor socks are from a little store I like that I hope weathers the shut down.
I hope we all weather the shut down.
